Delicious Masala Chips












This recipe is quick and easy, works as the perfect comfort food and is ready in no time!
All the ingredients are from the pantry, cupboard or freezer, making it convenient for after a long hard day of work or studying, as well as being extremely delicious.
Using oven chips means less fat than the takeaway or deep-fried chips and all the ingredients blend together nicely make a zingy, spicy wonder for your taste buds!
 Ingredients:
  •  2 cups of oven chips
  •  1 onion 
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  •  A teaspoon of chilli powder
  • A teaspoon of curry powder
  •  a dollop of tomato ketchup
  • optional fresh ginger
  • vegetable oil


Preparation time: 15 minutes Cook time: 25 minutes
Method:
  1. Cook the oven chips according to packet instructions, you can also make oven chips or wedges from scratch or cook in an Actifry or air fryer.                                                               
  2. As the chips are cooking, heat the oil in a frying pan on a medium to low heat. Dice the onion and fry for a few minutes until it starts to turn translucent. Add the spices and fry for another minute or so until the spices are fragrant.                                                               
  3. Add the tomato ketchup and some water if the consistency is too thick. Grate in the ginger. Then bring to a simmer and cook for one minute, constantly stirring. Once the sauce is thick and glossy, remove from heat and set it aside.
  4. When the chips are ready, reheat the sauce for a minute. Gently stir the chips into the sauce to coat them. Garnish the masala chips with thinly sliced chillies, spring onions and coriander leaves.
